I read that just before larvae are capped, they stand up in their cell. Since reading that fact, I have always wanted to see it. Somehow over a year and a half of beekeeping, I never saw it. That is until our last inspection. It’s silly how excited I was to see the larvae/pupa standing. I had to get a picture of her. So, here’s the little girl standing.
She’s ready to be tucked in and have her cell capped with wax. She’ll be in her capped cell for about 12 days and then emerge as a baby worker bee.
